I have always felt compelled to try to capture the mood or feeling of a place that touches me. Water and light are particularly inspiring, for their powerful yet ephemeral qualities, and so the coast, both Atlantic and Pacific, are frequent subjects. I love the luminous translucency of watercolor, and am constantly challenged by its unpredictability.
